Walking

There are nature trails in abundance at Hollicarrs.  Whether you are simply looking for a gentle stroll, or a more energetic walk over a longer distance, walking trails have been carefully carved out among the trees around the lodge park, leading you through bluebell dells, primrose banks, past our bird hide to spot the wildlife and natural ponds teaming with life.

If you prefer to cover a couple of miles, why not walk through the woods to Skipwith Common Nature Reserve, a site of special scentific interest.  This route takes you past the lovely Norman Church in Skipwith and the Drovers Arms is only a slight detour for a hearty lunch or afternoon tea.

All our nature trails and walks are ideal for walking your dog.  The walking route to Skipwith Common is also suitable for cycles.

Cycling

Hollicarrs is really well placed for cycling and offers cycles for hire with full recovery option should you be unfortunate enough to get a puncture!  The Sustrans Cycle track is situated only a 1/4 mile away from Hollicarrs, offering cycle only routes into Selby Town or the City of York, perfect for seeing the area at your pace without any traffic worries.
