A holiday home bucket list: what do you want from your dream holiday? property?

Holiday Home

For many people, the idea of owning a holiday home is a dream - the kind of goal that they’ll spend a lifetime saving for or silently promise themselves every time they pick the numbers for the National Lottery. For others, however, a holiday home is now an affordable reality representing the reward for a lifetime of hard work and achievement. For those fortunate enough to be in a position to buy a rural Yorkshire holiday home, a number of tough decisions must be made. What exactly are you looking for in an ideal holiday property? What attributes must it possess in order to pass muster? We think there’s a good chance you’ll want to tick these five key features off your list of priorities...

The ideal holiday property has to be somewhere beautiful - otherwise you may as well stay home! While you could buy a holiday property within easy access of the beach or another beauty spot, surely the ideal would be to purchase a holiday home nestled in picturesque surroundings? When you visit your home away from home you’ll want nothing more than to have easy access to all the sights, sounds and smells of nature.

All the best holidays are fundamentally relaxing, but it’s important that you have enough on your doorstep to keep you occupied throughout the duration of your stay, too. Whether you’re an avid hiker, keen horse rider or simply wish to luxuriate on the golden sands of a beach, it’s important that your holiday home comes with a variety of diverting activities on tap.

To some people aesthetics simply aren’t important, while to others looks can be everything. Regardless of how prominently the design of your property features on your list of holiday home priorities, you’re bound to want a building that looks as good from the outside as it does from the inside. When you approach your home away from home you should feel a sense of excited anticipation - you’re far more likely to experience this with a beautiful timber lodge than an ugly, pebble-dashed monstrosity...

When you go on vacation you should be able to really get away from it all, not to be surrounded by noisy neighbours and the constant drone of traffic. A secluded rural holiday property will help you to leave the stresses of everyday life behind and to truly relax into your surroundings - this is a far cry from the stresses and responsibilities of the city!

Last but by no means least, we come to the matter of price. You should never compromise on your other priorities for the sake of saving a few pennies when it comes to selecting your holiday home, but that doesn’t mean that you should be prepared to pay the Earth, either. Here at Escrick Park Estate we provide dozens of beautiful timber holiday homes to let, nestled away in the gorgeous Yorkshire countryside and with countless fun activities to enjoy right on your doorstep. Best of all, our Hollicarr holiday lodges are affordably priced, too, so if you’re in the market for a holiday home this year then why not make an inquiry and start really enjoying your downtime?
