Chic rural wedding

If your plan to have your wedding in the countryside, surrounded by a wealth of beautiful wildlife and stunning scenery isn’t chic enough, the team at Escrick Park have come up with a handful of ideas to make your rural wedding one to remember. Escrick Park can offer the perfect private facility for your bespoke wedding reception or event, providing ample space for a marquee, tent or any other ideas you might like to bring to life amongst our green pasture land. We can not only provide suggestions for your marquee hire, catering, florist and photographers, but also offer a few more special suggestions you might like to think about. Take a look at these five chic ideas for your rural summer wedding…

Ice cream canapés

Nowadays it is the norm to offer your guests canapés when they first arrive, to keep appetites at bay before the main meal that might come later on in the day or evening, but why not offer them canapés with a difference? On a hot day in the countryside, what could be more satisfying than a tasty, cooling ice cream to enjoy whilst pictures are being taken and guests are being greeted? Hire an ice cream cart for the afternoon and provide your guests with a summer treat while they chat and mingle.

Summery cocktails

Your guests will no doubt expect a drink on arrival, but rather than offer them champagne or wine, as they might expect, why not offer them a summery cocktail instead? Think Pimms or an iced Daiquiri, drinks they’ll be familiar with and glad to receive on a warm afternoon. You could even speak to your mixologist and create your very own couple cocktail, giving it a special name that everyone will remember and associate with your wedding day.

Outdoor decorations

While you might have a marquee or tent for the evening event or in case the weather turns, while the sun is shining or temperatures are warm, you should encourage your guests to enjoy the outdoors. You could provide comfortable seating outside of the tent, dotting around a few sofas, armchairs or even haybales. Hanging fairy lights or setting up torches will invite people to gather outside later in the day, providing a chance to gaze up at the stars.

Wedding favour fans

Wedding favours are the perfect opportunity to get creative and also to say thank you to your guests for attending your big day. While little chocolates or sweets are the norm, why not provide something a little more useful on a summer’s day? You could spend an afternoon with your bridesmaids creating or decorating little paper fans for your guests to use should they feel a little hot during the reception or ceremony, which can then be kept as a nice memento of your day.

Seasonal place settings

If you’re having a sit down meal at some point or are arranging designated places for your guests to sit, you’ll undoubtedly have already thought about place settings. Creating special place settings for each of your guests is another chance for you to get creative, and for your summer rural wedding you might want to consider incorporating the season. You could provide each of your guests with a piece of seasonal fruit, placing a little cocktail stick with a label of their name on in each one to help them to find their seat, or even use little flowers or buds that are in season.

Here at Escrick Park we’re full of bright ideas and can provide the perfect location for your beautiful rural wedding. If you’d like to find out more about the services and space we offer, get in touch with the team at Escrick Park today.
