Hollicarrs Tree Trail

The Tree trail at Hollicarrs has been designed to help us to identify some of the common trees in and around the Holiday Park.
Story Category: The Hollicarrs

The tree trail at Hollicarrs has been designed to help us identify some of the trees in and around the holiday park.

By taking this short walk it will be possible to see native trees such as the 300 year old veteran oaks, ornamental trees and plantation conifers. On this trail there are 17 different tree to be discovered but careful searching will reveal many other species not listed here.

There are many ways to identify a tree including leaf shape, needles, bark, tree shape, flowers, fruit, buds and twigs. We have created a booklet, this will explain some of these features, combined with interesting facts about the various trees and their value, both to wildlife and commercially.

The Hollicarrs tree trail was the inspiration of Alan Hunton.

We would like to say a big thank you to Alan and the groundsmen at Hollicarrs for all the hard work they have done to help create a walk for people who are interested in knowing more about trees that can be found around the holiday park.
