At the beginning of March Lesley found herself bound to a wheelchair after she fractured her foot and was unable to walk for a few months. After a discussion with her consultant at the fracture clinic, her foot had still not healed properly but he encouraged her to exercise which she found very hard as she was in pain but she had always enjoyed cycling so she thought she would give that a go and whilst doing this she would raise some money at the same time!
At the beginning of October, Lesley set herself a challenge to cycle 250 kilometres around the holiday park over a period of a couple of months and asked fellow lodge owners for sponsorship. The two charities she chose to support were, Lollipop York, a charity that does amazing things for deaf children and their families in York and North Yorkshire and The Children's Ward at York Hospital.
Within just one month Lesley completed her challenge and raised a massive £666 for her charities. She did a victory lap of the holiday park and had her very own supporters that followed.
Well done Lesley for your amazing effort!
