On Wednesday 6th April, Dianne Core came to talk to the Craft Ladies at The Haven.
Diane belongs to a voluntary group called "Helpful Friends" and wanted to thank the ladies, for all of their hard work in knitting and crocheting blankets for their charity.

Helpful Friends are providing cosy packages which comprise of; a blanket, hot water bottle and cover. Also, a woolly hat, gloves and a box of packet soups.

They charge £1 for these packages so that people maintain their dignity. The monies that they receive is then passed on to the Food Bank which is in the same building.

The packages are extremely important as they could save a life. With the heating bills increasing at an alarming rate, this and next winter will become very stressful for the elderly and vulnerable families.

The group have already issued the packages this winter and are building up stock for next winter.

Thank you to everyone for their time and kindness.
