Shoe Boxes Appeal
Story Category: The Hollicarrs
Thu 8th March 2018
So nice to receive this thank you and update from Samaritans Purse. Our owners at Hollicarrs got together and packed 44 shoe boxes for this appeal. Well done to all those who contributed, such a worthwhile Charity.
THANK YOU for packing a shoebox gift in 2017. You were part of a celebration which shared a message of love with 678,942 children in 13 countries, and we think that’s something special! For another year running, we’ve been overwhelmed by your generosity, as have the children who will always treasure the moment they experienced great joy as they received and unpacked your gift.

Each year we invite you to send your shoebox on its way with a suggested donation to help cover the cost of collecting, processing and shipping your shoebox gifts. But it doesn't stop there - your donation enables the training of our overseas volunteer teams and the provision of project materials to allow them to reach out to their local communities through Operation Christmas Child and help children discover Jesus for themselves.

You are the people who make Operation Christmas Child possible and we love to provide you with feedback. Where possible we seek to share with you the country your shoebox was sent to as part of choosing the online donation method. However, while we endeavour to ensure each barcode is scanned, very occasionally one can get missed due to human error or when we encounter technical difficulties with the scanner reading the barcode e.g. some print outs using 'ink-saving' modes do not scan well.

Our records show that you kindly made a project donation online this year but have not received a destination email from us. If you included your barcode in your shoebox gift we would like to apologise that on this occasion we are unable to provide you with this information but to reassure you that your shoebox gift will have reached its destination and made a real difference to the precious child receiving it. We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause and are working to further improve our scanning process.

We would love to share with you a selection of stories, photos, videos and information about our 2017 destination countries. We hope you’ll be as moved by them as we were...
