Access Statement

The Hollicarrs Holiday Park has 210 holiday pitches sited on level ground with nearby parking and stone chippings leading to the holiday homes.  Holiday homes are accessed by either 3 or 4 steps with integral handrail. Ramps and platforms can be specified as an alternative. All lodges can be adapted where necessary to be suitable for owners with various disabilities. Brochures with full specifications are available upon request.

An ‘Owners’ Information Booklet’ is provided for all new owners, which gives detailed information on local services and amenities. This information is also available from Reception.

Arrival and car parking

For the safety of our owners and visitors we have a 10mph speed limit in operation throughout the park. The roads are primarily tarmac or tar and chip, with gravel roads leading off to the holiday homes. Car parks are of stone chippings. We have three main visitor or overflow car parking areas, located in strategic areas around the park. Each holiday home has allocated parking for one car next to the steps or ramp leading up to the decking area.

Reception

There is car parking directly in front of our reception area, which is accessed by 4 steps or a 1000mm wide ramp. There are double doors each of 900mm wide. There is a small lip of 50mm depth in the doorway. The doorway is wide enough for a large wheelchair and assistance is always on hand for those requiring it.

There is a 720mm high desk and ample room for manoeuvring a wheelchair. Reception is well lit.

Public WC

The WC is accessed via the same ramp and steps as Reception. The doorway is 580mm wide and there is a small lip in the doorway. There is a disabled toilet located in The Haven (see below for details) the key for which being available from Reception.

Launderette

The launderette is situated to the rear of Reception and is on level ground. The doorway is 710mm wide  and there is a lip of 700mm in the doorway. The laundry is well lit.

Telephone

An emergency telephone is available 24 hours a day and is situated on the gable end of reception next to the W.C.  We have a reasonable coverage of all mobile phone networks, however as we are in a woodland setting, there can be certain areas where the signal strength may be low.

Warden

We have a 24 hour on call warden who is available overnight in the event of an emergency.

Owners Meeting Place

We have an owners meeting room known as ‘The Haven’, which is used for social gatherings and meetings. This is accessed by a gravel path and a 1200mm wide ramp. There are 2 sets of double doors each of 1600mmwide.  There is a small kitchenette and two public W.C’s one of which has disabled fittings and an extra wide doorway of 826mm The Haven is well lit, as is the path leading up to it.

Tennis Courts

The tennis court is accessed by the same gravel path as The Haven and is of a level tarmac construction.

The fishing pond is accessed from the site to the north via gravel roads, there is parking at the fishing pond for a small number of vehicles. Almost half of the fishing platforms are accessed via gravel paths with slight gradient or two steps leading from gravelled path to further platforms on a level grassed bank. Fishing platforms are constructed out of timber with a level base of which eight have 100mm timber front and side rails.

Woodland Paths

Maps of the woodland walks are available from reception and can also be found in the owners’ information booklet. Woodland paths are mostly constructed of well consolidated gravel, and smaller paths are bare earth. Care must be taken when walking in the woodland as you may come across horses, and occasionally horse and carriages also use the woodland.

Testimonials
Hollicarrs a breathtaking environment, don't just take our word for it.
Mr and Mrs Frary

Derek and I just want to say a big thank you to all those involved in our recent upgrade from a holiday caravan to a timber lodge.

What could of been a really stressful tense time was made so much easier by thoughtful, patient staff at Hollicarrs and Coastline Leisure. Our particular gratitude is given to Shane, who without doubt took time and care to make sure that what we were looking for was attained over and above our expectations. His polite, professional and caring manner was given to us during the whole process, from moving our old van to siting our holiday lodge with utmost care and attention.

We are now looking forward to spending time here, whenever possible, to enjoy our lodge and surroundings.

Thank you all.

Mr & Mrs Elcock

" After viewing lots of sites locally, Hollicarrs was just such a beautiful/tranquil place to choose for our lodge to be sited. The staff are very friendly and helpful with the whole process from choosing which plot, to which lodge and then to prestige to look and choose everything you would like from the external look to all the internal features with a vast choice of fabrics/floorings/furniture and fittings, just brilliant.

Then to see everything come to life as your lodge makes its way onto site, this is when all those choices you've made become reality. we couldn't believe they can produce such a beautiful lodge in such a short time, what a team. We can not thank them enough and would recommend to anyone of thinking of taking the plunge, Coastline leisure, prestige and Hollicarrs are a winning combination. "

Mr & Mrs Oxley

Our journey started mid 2016 when we were tempted to buy a lodge at Hollicarrs, having visited playing pétanque and know a number of owners there. This is when we first met Shane and Steve, he was very friendly and helpful. Ongoing we then decided to put buying a lodge on hold but Shane was very understanding.

So fast forward to January 2017 when we saw lodges on the website, in the meantime we had visited Hollicarrs a few times to visit friends who where all so positive about the place. All of their comments emphasised what we had already seen, peaceful environment, lovely scenery lots of nice people and lots of activity. Thus we re-encountered Shane and Steve. Again Shane in particular was very helpful showing us various lodges available.

We where unsure and so whilst on holiday in Tenerife we messaged Shane for more information, sizes, costs, sheds, decking extensions, nothing was too much trouble for Shane. On return we soon placed a deposit on a maple lodge - already on site and show lodge. We wanted to change a few things, furniture, carpet not suitable, light fittings etc. Not a problem for Shane and Steve.

Soon after was when we then met Dawn and Lisa in reception and later the ground staff and wardens. Everyone of the staff were so very helpful and made settling in so straight forward. Throughout the journey we have received detailed information concerning the purchase of a holiday Lodge and the benefits of Hollicarrs. Everything we have been told has been spot on.

Our lasting memory is of Shane arriving at our lodge armed with a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of bubbly.

Thanks to all the team, and our friends old and new at Hollicarrs

Hollicarrs Owner

Whilst on holiday in the north of England in September 2017, we visited a number of holiday parks with a view to choosing a location on which to have a holiday lodge when we retired.

Of all the sites we visited, Hollicarrs impressed us the most, and being close to York, we felt it was an ideal location for us, close to all the amenities but still in a beautiful setting. We also thought it would be a great place to take our children and grandchildren for a holiday. We felt at that point it was too soon for us to commit to a lodge, as retirement was still at least a year away, and living north of Inverness, it was too far away to use for weekends. However, at the end of last year we decided we did not want to miss out on the site we wanted, and went ahead and booked. We were originally due to visit the factory in Kettering in March, however the “Beast from the East” made it impossible to leave Scotland so we had to postpone until April.

The visit to the factory was a great experience, which we would highly recommend. Being able to choose the size of our lodge, and to incorporate a third bedroom, was a huge bonus for us. We had not seen the Buckland lodge, which we chose, except on paper plans, and had decided that we did not like the layout of the kitchen, so had the plans changed to incorporate a kitchen from one of the other lodges. However, when we got to the factory, we were immediately taken to see a Buckland Lodge on the site, and as soon as we entered we decided that the kitchen was perfect, and we decided to keep the original.  It was also great to be able to see, not just the fabric, flooring and tile samples, but to actually see some of them in place in different lodges. There was no hard sell at the factory, we just went through all the rooms, one by one, and the outside specifications, and decided what we wanted.

After everything had been agreed, we were sent the final specifications, and after that Shane gave us regular updates, sending us photos of the lodge arriving on site, and then again sending us photos of the interior as soon as it was put together.

We finally took possession of our lodge in Sept 2018, and are absolutely delighted with it.

A great experience from start to finish – thank you to all the team at Hollicarrs!

Richard and Christine

"We would like to thank Shane for his outstanding professionalism in our recent Lodge purchase at Hollicarrs, Escrick park which he dealt with from start to finish. Our new Lodge which was built on site was a remarkably smooth event and everything went like clockwork. Nothing was too much trouble and as far as we are concerned it couldn’t have been better. Thanks Shane."

Andy and Debbie - Wildflower Lodge
Debbie and myself regard ourselves as very fortunate that after much searching we found Hollicarrs. From the first tentative enquiry to Shane via telephone back in November to today, our "launch day" where we welcome our first guests at Wildflower lodge, we were immediately put at ease with Shane's easy manner. His expert guidance when we needed it was pivotal in making our new "adventure" possible. Thank you Shane.

We recently purchased a lodge at Hollicarrs. After considering several options during lockdown, we decided to go ahead. Shane guided us through the whole process, we visited several times before finally making the commitment. Nothing was too much trouble and he made the purchase procedure clear & straightforward. He gave us all the information we needed in a well organised & timely manner. It was clear that he follows up his sales as he knows many of the residents by name. We are delighted with our home from home lodge.

Andy

I purchased a brand new lodge on Escrick Park a couple of months back and can honestly say that the end-to-end process was seamless and enjoyable throughout.

I had been looking at other parks in the York area and Escrick was by far the most appealing, being set in a very peaceful and immaculately maintained woodland area with great access to York, Selby and the surrounding countryside.

The entire team have been very supportive and helpful. Shane particularly is not your typical salesperson, he has been great to deal with, but more notably has not washed his hands after the sale and has been pro-active in making sure everything was OK post sale.

I would highly recommend the park at Escrick and, after intensive research, I am 100% happy with my decision to purchase a lodge here.

Thanks to everyone involved in making this go so smoothly.
