Hollicarrs FAQs

How long does the park open for through the year?
The park is open all year. Please note that the park is licensed as a holiday park and cannot be used as a permanent residential home.
Can my friends and family use my holiday home?
Yes, with prior approval.
Is there private fishing nearby?
A well stocked fishing lake created in the wood is only a short walk from the Park area. Disabled facilities are provided.
Is there a Golf Course I can use?
At the local village of Wheldrake, Swallow Hall Golf course can offer day membership of the 18 hole golf course. Other courses are sited at Fulford and Bubwith.
Is car parking provided?
Car parking is available outside each holiday home site for one car with extra parking on the park.
Can I hire bicycles?
Yes, bike hire is available from the site, with a full recovery service provided. Helmets are also provided.
Are there nature walks on site?
Nature trails and cycle paths provide miles of enjoyment. Ideal for walking your dog or just fresh air and exercise. The paths and trails link to Skipwith Common Nature Reserve and the village of Escrick. Also the Subtrans cycle route is only half a mile from the park, this provides direct traffic free access to York.
What are the services provided to the site?
Metered LPG, electricity and water. A full sewage and treatment plan is in place. There are telephone landlines to our Harts Nook development only. Wireless internet connection is available at an additional cost to lodges and holiday homes on Phase 1
Do I have a choice of holiday homes to purchase?
We have demonstration lodges on site for viewing, we can also direct you to several manufacturers to view further models.
Can I have decking or storage boxes?
Decking and skirting is all included in the price. Storage Boxes  are available at an extra cost, and must be approved by park management
How long can I keep my holiday home on site for?
If you purchase a holiday home we would ordinarily expect it to stay for 10/15 years; if you purchase a timber clad lodge, for 30 years; a timber lodge, for as long as 99.  Pitch fees  will be charged annually.
Can I bring my pets?
Dog owners may bring their pets to The Hollicarrs but they must be kept on a short lead and cleaned up after. Dogs must not cause a noise nuisance to other residents. Maximum number of dogs per lodge is 2.
Is there a shop available?
There is no shop on the site, however,  Riccall villages supply shops and post offices. Large supermarkets are based in Selby and York who will also supply doorstep deliveries. Fresh fruit and vegatables delivery can be arranged see https://www.facebook.com/brownsthegreengrocers
What are the pitch fees?
The pitch fees for 2018/19 start at £3110 per annum for a holiday home and go up to £4075 per annum for a lodge on our prestigious Harts Nook development. This includes business rates, and utility administration costs.  After the first payment pitch fees are payable in advance at the beginning of March and are reviewed annually.
What sports facilities are there?
A tennis court, bowling green and boules court all for the exclusive use of the owners. Bikes, complete with helmets can be hired.

Our journey started mid 2016 when we were tempted to buy a lodge at Hollicarrs, having visited playing pétanque and know a number of owners there. This is when we first met Shane and Steve, he was very friendly and helpful. Ongoing we then decided to put buying a lodge on hold but Shane was very understanding. 

So fast forward to January 2017 when we saw lodges on the website, in the meantime we had visited Hollicarrs a few times to visit friends who where all so positive about the place. All of their comments emphasised what we had already seen, peaceful environment, lovely scenery lots of nice people and lots of activity. Thus we re-encountered Shane and Steve. Again Shane in particular was very helpful showing us various lodges available. 

We where unsure and so whilst on holiday in Tenerife we messaged Shane for more information, sizes, costs, sheds, decking extensions, nothing was too much trouble for Shane. On return we soon placed a deposit on a maple lodge - already on site and show lodge. We wanted to change a few things, furniture, carpet not suitable, light fittings etc. Not a problem for Shane and Steve. 

Soon after was when we then met Dawn and Lisa in reception and later the ground staff and wardens. Everyone of the staff were so very helpful and made settling in so straight forward. Throughout the journey we have received detailed information concerning the purchase of a holiday Lodge and the benefits of Hollicarrs. Everything we have been told has been spot on. 

Our lasting memory is of Shane arriving at our lodge armed with a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of bubbly.

This is the perfect environment for the young and mature alike. All the seasons are stunning and there is a variety of things to do.  The accessibility to the lovely city of York is flexible either by bus, cycle or car, as it is only 7 miles away.

Derek and I just want to say a big thank you to all those involved in our recent upgrade from a holiday caravan to a timber lodge. 

What could of been a really stressful tense time was made so much easier by thoughtful, patient staff at Hollicarrs and Coastline Leisure. Our particular gratitude is given to Shane, who without doubt took time and care to make sure that what we were looking for was attained over and above our expectations. His polite, professional and caring manner was given to us during the whole process, from moving our old van to siting our holiday lodge with utmost care and attention.

We are now looking forward to spending time here, whenever possible, to enjoy our lodge and surroundings.
